We know you probably use FaceTime. However, while Apple’s own video call app is perfect for Apple user to Apple user communications, it is not ideal if some of your friends are not on the Apple bandwagon. That’s why we’ve highlighted Google Duo. This gives you the chance to connect with anyone on your contact list, regardless of whether they have an Apple phone or device or use Android. FourSquare City Guide
It may not be exactly new, but we can’t rave about FourSquare City Guide enough. It is a smooth running, easy to navigate round and detailed guide to help you find restaurants, bars and anything else you need to know wherever you are. What makes it particularly useful though is the fact that you can read user tips and provide ratings for places when you visit them. As there is a large community using the app, you have the option to follow influencers, friends and brands for great tips about where to go.

People particularly like the fact that it can sync up seamlessly with Venmo and PayPal, allowing you to clear debts whenever you are able to.
Again, it is not exactly a new app, but it is still one of the best available. Particularly if you are looking to learn a new language. It’s not always an easy task, but Duolingo makes it much easier and puts a lot of fun into it too. There are a wide variety of languages to choose from, and more are being added regularly. As the lessons are split into small, but meaningful chunks, it makes it much more convenient to just learn a little each day.

It also permits and encourages responsible and safe advertising.
