There’s nothing like a good band to get a party started whether it’s a private event or a concert of thousands. From rapcore to heavy metal, a new crop of rockers are making their mark on the music scene and DotCom Magazine has announced its choice of Top 5 bands that are making waves around the world.

Bands

Thunderpussy

The Seattle, WA-based female band tours extensively and is successfully making their way in a male dominated field through their powerful music. The group has its own line of fan merchandise and is a favorite at music festivals. The band is fresh, brash and unapologetic – they have natural swag and their live shows are spectaculars just waiting to be experienced. The group was signed to Starlog Records owned by Pearl Jam’s lead guitarist, Mike McCready.

Visigoth

Underground Sensation

There’s been a resurgence in the U.S. of power metal and the Utah-based group is a clear and shining example of a traditional heavy metal band. Visgoth is focused more on eliciting raw emotion and response from their audiences than strictly adhering to a specific genre. The band became an underground sensation worldwide after the release of their debut album “The Revenant King.” The band’s powerful music and style is tailor made for live venues and they’ve toured extensively in the U.S. and Europe.

Greta Van Fleet

Formed in 2012 in Michigan, the four-man band was signed to Lava Records in 2017. Their music has topped the Billboard charts several times, they were named new Artist of the Week by Apple Music in 2017, and Best New Artist at the Loudwire Music Awards. Greta Van Fleet has opened for a number of well-known music giants, including Bob Seger, appeared on a variety of TV shows, and the hard rock band has been likened to Led Zeppelin.

Wrong

Categorized as aggressive, raucous and uncompromising, Wrong is a high-energy rock band that was signed by Relapse Records in 2015. Based in Miami, the gritty group has been likened to metal bands from the 90s with aggressive rhythms, strong beats, and simple vibes that invade the brain.

Records Studio

The Fever 333

Comprised of three members, the rapcore band based in California was launched in 2017, playing impromptu shows from a U-Haul truck. They released their debut EP, “Made An America,” in early 2018 and it immediately gained the attention of Roadrunner Records that quickly placed them under contract. They’re one of the hottest bands in the world, toured throughout the U.S. and Europe, and known for their politically aware messages.

Always Relevant

The sound and style of DotCom Magazine’s Top 5 band picks all have different sounds, but they also have a common denominator. They’re all making music their own way. No matter the style, the Top 5 bands are producing music that’s relevant to a generation that’s socially aware.
