The sports industry is a billion-dollar industry that does not seem to show any signs of slowing down or becoming any less lucrative. We all know someone that plays sports or likes wearing sportwear. Is it not important therefore, at least from time to time to think about who actually is the coolest sports brand of them all? There’s quite a few to choose from, but at DotCom Magazine, we decided to make your search a little easier by presenting the companies we think are the best. Part of what makes sports brands cool and great, is having great slogans and logos. Also, the addition of a cool athlete can turn a smaller company into a huge success.
Reebok
While Reebok might have fallen from grace somewhat compared to the others on this list, it is still quite a cool sports brand. It has been in business since 1895, when it was first founded in Bolton, UK by JW Foster and Sons, as it was known back then. Some of the coolest things about this brand includes the fact that it is the official apparel and footwear sponsor for Les Mills, Spartan Race and CrossFit.
Puma
Puma is a major German company that has been in operation since 1924 and is known as the manufacturer and supplier of predominately casual and athletic footwear, although it also produces sportswear too. The company originally started as Gebruder Dassler Schuhfabrik and was setup by Rudolf and Adolf Dassler. However, the brother’s relationship deteriorated quick quickly and in 1948 they separated into two different companies, Adidas and Puma. In its time, it has been a sponsor for some of the greatest athletes of all time, including Martina Navratilova, Linford Christie, Michael Shumacher, Diego Maradona and Pele. Luis Suarez and Hector Ballerin are among the footballers that are currently sponsored by the brand.
Under Armor
Under Armor is a relatively new brand compared to others on this list, having only been established since 1996. However, it has grown in popularity over the last 22 years to become one of the leading brands in the world. It sells all manner of sportswear and footwear for sports and casual purposes. some of the most prominent names that have sponsorship deals with the company include the basketballer Stephen Curry, the British boxer Anthony Joshua, tennis playing brothers Andy and Jamie Murray and swimming legend Michael Phelps. We can’t think of anything cooler than that!
Adidas
As noted earlier, Adidas was born out of the ashes of the company Rudolf Dassler formed with his brother Adolf. While Rudolf started Puma, Adolf started Adidas. Currently, the company that designs, manufactures and supplies sportswear of all kinds and for all disciplines is currently the supplier of the All Blacks kit, along with the Italian and French team in rugby Union.
Nike
Nike are by far the most successful sportswear and equipment company in the world. They are an American multinational company and have always been considered one of the coolest, thanks to their sponsorships with people like Michael Jordan. Currently, Kobe Bryant, following in the footsteps of Michael Jordan is one of the most prominent and successful NBA basketball players that has a sponsorship with the brand.
