Anish, thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day for this interview about your company, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
1. Anish, please tell us about Copods?
Copods is an experience design and engineering services company. We collaborate as partners in the digital journey of software product companies for shaping a robust foundation on which their business can thrive.
Since inception we have garnered the trust of software product startups as well as fortune 500 companies across the globe, and partnered for crafting compelling stories.
2. How did you come up with the idea of Copods?
Passion and hunger for constant innovation has steered the foundation of Copods. Our brand identity âCOPODSâ truly stands for our services partnership model. Copods is formed by the fusion of 2 words, âCOLLABORATIONâ – working together for achieving a common goalâ, and âPODSâ – a detachable self-contained unit having a particular mission.
3. What is the key to your companyâs success?
Over the past 18 years we have mastered the science and art of shaping a balanced software product experience, blending design and engineering in relevant proportions for evolving an experience that is PRACTICAL – i.e. desirable for end-users, feasible for technology, and viable for the business.
Our proven software product experience design and development methodology orchestrates creativity, engineering and planning in a short amount of time, that results in a deep insight and understanding of a strategy, and a âBALANCED EXPERIENCE ENGINEEREDâ product.
Furthermore, we have carefully handpicked a fraternity of passionate and trustworthy individuals who are fully committed to the vision and culture of Copods.
4. Many of our readers are just starting to build a company. What advice can you give entrepreneurs just starting out with a new venture?
Serve as you would like to get servedâ, as for lasting relationships the experience matters, whether with another human or digital product, and requires constant adaptation as well as validation.
5. For other entrepreneurs seeking to build a business a successful as yours, what advice can you give them when times get a little challenging?
Build your business with a team of trusted individuals who share similar passion and belief in the company as you, and are doers. Also, perseverance is key, as the secret recipe to success takes time to discover, and is hidden in the shades of failures and successes in your path.
6. How do you make sure your customers will become raving fans of your company?
We serve as an extended arm of our customer teams and not as external vendors. In doing so, adapting to our customers culture of working, being empathetic to their business vision and challenges, as well as delivering high quality and practical outcomes, are primary levers for Copods in nurturing lasting relationships with customers and making them our advocates.
7. In todayâs fast changing business environment, how do you stay abreast of things?
Networking with people and habitual reading, are the primary sources of knowledge for being apprised about the industry happenings.
8. What is your âWhyâ? Why do you get up in the morning, and how do you keep yourself at peak performance to lead Copods?
The constant urge to get to work and spend quality time with the team and industry discussing, âwhats new in technology?â, âwhats changing in human behaviour and why?â, and collaborating with like-minded folks for shaping great software product brands and experiencing ideas come to life, is fulfilling.
9. Can you recommend a book that had an influence in your career? How did it influence you?
âInsanely Simpleâ articulates firsthand observations of Steve Jobs most powerful business weapon i.e. simplicity, and another book âThink Simple: How Smart Leaders Defeat Complexityâ, is a fantastic compilation of real world experiences on how the power of âSimplicityâ has transformed several companies around the globe. Demystifying complexity by leveraging the power of âsimplicityâ is an integral aspect of how i have been shaping useable and loveable software product experiences, and it has influenced my interactions with people, as well as my way of living.
10. What makes a great leader?
In any company, the brands credibility and its culture is a direct reflection of their leadership and the team, and itâs extremely important to âlead by exampleâ for yourself and your team. The ability to build and foster a team of believers and not merely followers is an important trait of a leader. If you believe in what you do, the probability of success is much higher.
