WebTek is a digital marketing agency, we excel in web design, internet marketing, seo and other online things.

Kornel, thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day for this interview about your company, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

1. Kornel, please tell us about WebTek.

WebTek is a digital marketing agency, which simply means we excel in web design, internet marketing, seo and other online things to help promote and market a company’s products or services. We have been doing this for over 20 years, are located in Lancaster PA and operate with a team of about 17 people.

2. How did you come up with the idea for WebTek?

I bought 3 computer related books at a discount book store, and the first one I read was HTML (web language) and started learning about websites and web design and the vision for WebTek began. I never did read those other 2 books.

3. What is the key to your company’s success?

One of the main keys to our success is being diligent about getting our clients results. When we can make them successful, that in return makes our company successful.

4. Many of our readers are just starting to build a company. What advice can you give entrepreneurs just starting out with a new venture?

I would advise others to start is as a side hobby and test the waters while holding down a stable job if possible. Although the days were long, this strategy helped me successfully build WebTek up until I had enough of a base to go full-time with it and got me through those first few years when most businesses fail.

5. For other entrepreneurs seeking to build a business as successful as yours, what advice can you give them when times get a little challenging?

Don’t get discouraged and keep your head up. You’ll likely have more challenges than triumphs if your first years. It’s when you grind through those challenges that builds enduring qualities that will help your company stand the test of time.

6. How do you make sure your customers will become raving fans of your company?

That’s easy, exceed their expectations. How to do that is a little more challenging. In our industry, most marketing agencies overpromise and under deliver. We

make sure we over deliver. We nurture relationships. We literally care about their success, not just completing their job… and that shines through. What is on the inside of us, has a way of filtering through to the outside in our communications.

7. In today’s fast changing business environment, how do you stay abreast of things?

Things have become so specialized. I rely on my team members to become experts in their area of specialty instead of everyone becoming a general practitioner in the business. They do this by working in that specialty area daily and learning everything they can about it.

8. What is your “Why”? Why do you get up in the morning, and how do you keep yourself at peak performance to lead WebTek?

I get up in the morning to keep building on where I left off the day prior. We have limited time here on earth and there is so much to do and accomplish for individuals like myself who are goal driven.

A balanced lifestyle is important to operate at peak performance. For me this includes adequate sleep, exercise, hard work, leisure activities, constant learning and a lifestyle of healthy habits.

9. Can you recommend a book that has had an influence in your career? How did it influence you?

I would say the Bible. It has so much wisdom and teaching in it for personal enrichment, times of challenges and successful living. It has helping me be a high producer and quality leader.

10. What makes a great leader?

Servant leadership. Not being afraid to jump in the trenches and work alongside your team. Being approachable yet confident in the way we handle ourselves and lead our teams.
