Zonifero WorkPlace
Streamline your workplace

Łukasz, thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day to answer our questions about leadership, and entrepreneurship.

1. Please tell us about Zonifero. What is the elevator pitch?

Zonifero is a comprehensive proptech startup that makes properties and offices labour- and cost-efficient by fusing automation, AI and IoT. Zonifero has already signed a contract to service 12 thousand employees of a leading developer of commercial real estate in Central-Eastern Europe as well as over 20 partners around the world who are promoting this solution. Zonifero is a part of the TenderHut Capital Group, with the solution itself developed by SoftwareHut, a company within the group specialising in software development. The company grew rapidly, collaborating with partners such as Cavatina and Knight Frank, among others.

2. What is the one thing that makes Zonifero great?

Zonifero was created to meet the internal needs of a rapidly-growing company, that is, the start-up’s parent company: TenderHut Capital Group. The application remedies real-world problems in the day-to-day work of every office worker, as these problems were explicitly defined in the office environment. Thanks to this, the solution can scale under any conditions without issue, and the software’s modularity means that integration can take place in stages. All of this means that anyone who has used Zonifero at their office, even once, now considers it a solution providing invaluable support in day-to-day work.

The majority of office management applications currently available on the market are either focused on the company or the building. They can be used to implement a solution that will fit the company, but not the building. Alternatively, a solution that fits the building and an individual division of the company does not serve the entire organisation. A combination of these two solutions is something that sets Zonifero apart from other available applications.

Zonifero is not an application implemented solely within a single building or specific company. It’s an entire ecosystem supporting the employee, regardless of the company where they are working. A move to another city or changes to the workplace retains the user within the whole system. So this, in turn, grows and learns as the number of users, buildings, and even name-brand applications integrated with Zonifero continue to grow. Data travels everywhere, alongside the user, so we have the capability of analysing office behaviour beyond the company or division level but at an individual level. This solution is an enormous breakthrough that can change office work as we know it.

3. Please tell us, what is the key to being a great entrepreneur?

When thinking about business, it is always worth paying attention to the possibility of scaling – ‘the bigger, the better’ is the fundamental idea. Every business centres on people, and thanks to them, it can achieve its success. That’s how Zonifero was born. We wanted to make it easier for our employees to work in the office on a daily basis. Goal-orientation and encouraging unique thinking are useful. However, without loyal, competent, and fully-engaged employees, it will be difficult to face even the simplest of business challenges. Dynamic growth is only possible when you have a team which you can count on, and vice-versa.

4. What is the best advice you can give to a young entrepreneur starting with a new venture?

Be consistent, as only perseverance and belief in oneself will help you reach success. Everybody in business faces various challenges every day. Faith in what you do and in the people around you, who believe in your business idea and its realisation, are the keys to your victory. In the beginning, every entrepreneur does many things by themselves. However, over time, as the company grows, responsibilities become delegated. At this point, you must ensure that your co-workers have the best possible working conditions because only thanks to them, the company will grow further.

5. What is the one thing for which you, as a person, wish to be known?

Conscientiousness is a trait that identifies with me, in the eyes of my co-workers, along with the notion that they can always count on me. Trust is the foundation of business, which is why, when working on a given project, I will always strive never to let down my team or business partners. This approach to work has always accompanied me throughout my professional career.

6. When building a business, what is always the most important thing to keep in mind?

Total focus on the goal and a conviction in identifying the reasons for which you undertake a project. Also, it’s not about the money at all, but the result. In the case of Zonifero, the foundations of the project were a desire to improve the quality of work for office employees. In developing a product, and determining directions together, we always return to the question – how will a given decision improve the quality of work for our users? If you don’t know which choice is the right one, always go back to the roots of the business of which you are part.

7. When hiring employees, what is the one most important thing you look for?

Work is a significant part of everyone’s lives, which is why taking care of the recruitment process is extremely important, and I attach considerable weight to it. In Zonifero, part of the TenderHut Group, the hiring process takes place according to the principle of “hiring by culture” – meaning that, having to choose between people with similar skillsets, we want the person who is closer to the values and business approach of the company. In this way, the team remains coherent. It understands the end-goal, and because common values connect us, it is easier for us to work together. Businesses are not made up of companies, but by the people who work at a given place. Careless recruitment is a waste of a company’s time and resources, so it is worth placing a high emphasis over this process.

8. What is your “Why”? Why do you get up in the morning?

Giving my all gives me the satisfaction and energy to take action. Working together with my team, I can achieve my set goals, which is why I like to watch Zonifero grow, and meet its potential with every passing day. Over the years, I have frequently become involved in projects in which I saw an opportunity for development. That’s precisely the kind of project that this is, and it’s why I get up every morning, to take part in it, and watch it grow.

9. What is the one thing that makes a great company?

It is the employees. They are the ones who build every company and enable it to operate and grow. Every company that has achieved success did so thanks to the work of its entire team. Thanks to the support and confidence of the group’s management board, every day, we can observe how vital a close-knit team is to the development of an enterprise. Every day, we learn new things in order to better-achieve the goals set out for us.

10. What is the one thing that makes a great leader?

In my opinion, a leader’s job is not to care about sales or the results of individual departments. A leader is someone who has just one vital task – to make sure that their co-workers have everything they need to achieve their goals. In my work, I have witnessed an example of such a leader, the CEO of the TenderHut Capital Group – Robert Strzelecki. A leader is someone who cares about people, who leads by example, by exhibiting thoroughness, knowledge, and willingness to help the team. If employees know they can count on their boss, then he can certainly count on them to achieve the goal they have set for themselves, together. That’s why working on the Zonifero project is so exciting.
