Q: Let’s start by telling us about your business?
CapGenius generates creative content and publishes it through a mobile keyboard which allows users to search for captions, find relevant content, and use it anywhere you use your keyboard. The keyboard also enables brands and companies to connect directly with their ideal target demographics of people already searching for their content based on categories.
Q: Please tell us how you make sure your customers will become raving fans of your company?
I’ve successfully driven hundreds of thousands of downloads by building a very engaging Instagram account @capgenius. Our audience can find relatable memes and tweets that they organically want share with their friends which in turn brings more impressions to our page. We have 36,000+ followers there but the majority of our posts are getting over 500,000 impressions because of engagement and relatable content.
Q: Please tell us the one thing that separates your business from the competition?
We built the idea of CapGenius into a keyboard so that our users can access it within a keyboard so that they can use it anywhere they are typing instead of having to exit and toggle back and forth between an native app. This allows our users to access content, puns, movie quotes and more in TikTok, Instagram, SnapChat, Facebook, while typing work emails, text messages and more!
Q: And to finish this section, Please tell us what is the one major key to your company’s success?
Relatable content. I really believe that content is king and in today’s digital world; people are always looking for ways to become funnier, more engaging and more relevant. We’re providing them access to that at their fingertips.
Q: For our readers just starting to build a company, what advice can you give entrepreneurs just starting out with a new venture?
Proximity is power. Surround yourself with people who know more than you and can help take your idea to the next level. I was able to assemble a great team of creatives to help take my idea and successfully bring it to life. Find others that have different skill sets and expertise than you do to help make your dream a reality.
Q: For entrepreneurs seeking to build a business as successful as yours, what big piece of advice can you give them when times get a little challenging?
An entrepreneurs day fills up with a never ending to-do list and plenty of rejection, roadblocks and work. To proactively combat and manage this, I recommend a process called time chunking. Lay out your end goal of what you want to accomplish then break it down into 3 month goals, 1 month goals and then write actionable steps you need to take to make that 1 month goal happen. Pick 1 thing from that list to tackle today and put a specific time on your calendar you need focus on it. You’ll start implementing time chunking into other things like emails, exercise, phone calls, etc. and notice that while the workload won’t change…you become fore efficient and progress quicker in attacking your goals.
Q: In today’s fast changing business environment, how do you stay abreast of things?
Take it one day at a time! You can become so overwhelmed with a “what’s next mentality” while workload piles up and external factors put pressure on your business. Focus on what you can accomplish today and also take time to read, grow, and educate yourself on what your competitors have done well and figure out how to replicate that in your business.

To help others realize their full potential within themselves.
Q: In one sentence, what is the most important thing one has to do to be a great leader?
Focus on today…there’s peace in knowing…you have everything you need to get where you’re going!
Q: In one sentence, describe how important your customers are to your business?
Build a small loyal customer base and word of mouth will grow your brand because they will recommend it to everyone they know.

Technology gives you access to anything you need right at your fingertips so use that to your advantage.

Ask yourself better questions like “what can I do today to set myself up for a better tomorrow.”

I don’t let it affect me and try to find a way to provide more value to that situation to change, pivot and grow.

Find people who are smarter than you and hire as many of them as you can.

Drown out the noise and focus on what you can do today to set yourself up to accomplish more tomorrow.
