Let’s start by telling us about your business.

My company, Arbe, is developing the next generation of radar, which will enable a truly safe driver-assist system while paving the way to full autonomous driving. Founded in 2015, Arbe’s patented 4D Imaging Radar technology empowers automakers with a sensing solution that is 100 times more detailed than any other radar on the market.

Q: Please tell us how you make sure your customers will become raving fans of your company?

It is all in our highly advanced technology. Arbe has disrupted sensing technology with a newly engineered 4D high resolution imaging radar with 100 times more detail than current radars, an achievement that makes military-grade sensing capabilities accessible to the mass market in terms of pricing and automotive integration feasibility.

Q: Please tell us the one thing that separates your business from the competition?

When planning the development of our radar, we originally assumed, like other radar developers, that we would buy 3rd-party chipsets. We quickly discovered, however, that no chip on the market was robust enough to handle what we believed to be the required performance for autonomous driving. In response we developed our own chipset that achieves ultra high-resolution using radar. Our chipset development efforts were accompanied by algorithm and AI development from day one – a strategic choice that is now making all the difference.

Q: And to finish this section, Please tell us what is the one major key to your company’s success?

The quality of our team; we hired an elite team of semiconductor engineers, radar specialists, and data scientists.

Q: For our readers just starting to build a company, what advice can you give entrepreneurs just starting out with a new venture?

Focus on creating a barrier to entry, to prevent other startups and large companies from easily entering your business domain. This can only be achieved by strong founders and a strong early hire team.

Q: For entrepreneurs seeking to build a business as successful as yours, what big piece of advice can you give them when times get a little challenging?

Create room for driving short term revenues from clients who are less impacted by these challenging times, and reduce burn rate.

Q: In today’s fast changing business environment, how do you stay abreast of things?

On top of frequent communication with customers, I follow industry thought leaders’ podcasts, and on Medium, and Twitter.

Q: What is your “Why”? In one sentence, why do you get up in the morning?

To drive my kids to school :-), and to drive a zero road fatalities reality!

Q: In one sentence, what is the most important thing one has to do to be a great leader?

Combine exceptional vision with flawless execution

Q: In one sentence, describe how important your customers are to your business?

Arbe is a customer-centric company — they are key to our business success, and their needs play a major role in the solution design.

Q: In one sentence, describe a positive way that technology can make the world a better place?

Our technology can dramatically reduce road accidents, and especially protect vulnerable road users.

Q: In one sentence, tell us how something positive to motivate our readers?

There’s plenty of room for innovation — every decade brings tremendous opportunities in new domains.

Q: In one sentence, tell us how you start your day to get ready?

I swim to help me focus and energize.

By getting back to the drawing board, recalculating what went wrong, quickly changing what needs to be changed, and getting back into the game.

I try to hire people who can replace me.

Q: In one sentence, describe how you keep your sanity in a competitive business environment?
