As the CEO of Rexford Realty, Alon Darvish does whatever it takes to get the job done, and he knows what it takes to lead a team.
A lot goes into presenting a home to be sold. It is a strenuous process and a stressful time for even the most resilient among us. A good realtor can alleviate most of that stress. A great realtor like Alon will be able to alleviate even more of it. Alon was raised around the field of construction so he can assist a seller with construction issues a home may have before it gets to the point of costing them precious dollars. Alon also has a special interest in architecture, which adds another helpful layer of knowledge to either the selling or buying process. If a buyer is convinced that they must only view a certain style of home, other agents may oblige and only show a few listings. But Alon may be able to show a wider array of listings because he can use his background in construction along with his knowledge of architecture to show a buyer how they could transform one style of home into another.
Alon has built a team that is equally driven to succeed. They work in the areas of Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Beverly Hills, Orange County, and more. Alon is not intimidated by having multiple million-dollar listings or by working with A-list clients. But he is also humble and equally comfortable working with a family to find a starter home with a lower price point. Q: Please tell us how you make sure your customers will become raving fans of your company?
Home buying and selling is a very personal thing that you are sharing with an individual, so it is important that they trust you and are comfortable with you. For that reason, I make sure to tailor everything I do to the needs of my clients. Everything is customized to suit their needs, and I continue on that personal level until we have accomplished our goal together.
Q: Please tell us the one thing that separates your business from the competition?
There are a lot of things we can offer that other agencies cannot. For instance, I use a non-independent broker escrow company, Anytime Escrow, which saves the client thousands on escrow fees. It is one more reason that clients will continue to choose Rexford Realty over the competition.
Q: And to finish this section, please tell us what is the one major key to your company’s success?
All of us here at Rexford Realty are extremely dedicated to going above and beyond for our clients.
Q: For our readers just starting to build a company, what advice can you give entrepreneurs just starting out with a new venture?
Have endurance. Success doesn’t happen overnight, so stay positive and keep going even if it is taking longer than you thought it would.
Q: For entrepreneurs seeking to build a business as successful as yours, what one big piece of advice can you give them when times get a little challenging?
Learn how to look at a problem differently. When you get stuck on looking at a problem with one way of thinking, it limits you to one set of solutions. So, try to think differently when faced with problems. Maybe entertain an idea that you normally would shy away from or be more open to asking others for their input. Becoming a better problem solver will help you get through the challenging times.
Q: In today’s fast-changing business environment, how do you stay abreast of things?
Knowing what is on the mind of consumers and then basing how you act on that will keep you ahead of trends. One great way of doing this is by using social media to engage with clients or potential clients.
Q: What is your “Why”? In one sentence, why do you get up in the morning?
I get up in the morning because I genuinely love what I do, and I am passionate about those satisfying moments where I get to share in helping someone find their dream home.
Q: In one sentence, what is the most important thing one has to do to be a great leader?
Be open to criticism; you cannot help others better themselves if you are closed off to opportunities to better yourself.
Q: In one sentence, describe how important your customers are to your business?
My clients fuel my passion and motivate me to keep going in my business.
Q: In one sentence, describe a positive way that technology can make the world a better place?
Technology helps so many of us to do our jobs better and with much more efficiency, so for that reason I think it makes the world a better place than it would be without it.

Don’t wait around for success to come to you—go out and create your own.
Q: In one sentence, tell us how you start your day to get ready?
I like to look over the day’s activities before getting started so that I have a clear vision of what it looks like and form a plan of how to do those things in the most efficient way possible.
Q: In one sentence, describe how you handle rejection and setback?
I handle rejection and setback by turning around and working even harder the next day.
Q: In one sentence, describe what your hiring philosophy is?
I believe in hiring highly driven people that like to attack problems in a unique way.
Q: In one sentence, describe how you keep your sanity in a competitive business environment?
I don’t tend to get too stressed out but if I am ever feeling tense, I like to review my accomplishments to remind myself of what I am capable of.
