Nicholas Beugg is a successful entrepreneur, inventor, marketer, and investor among other accolades. Throughout his career, Nicholas has seen a lot of businesses grow as a result of his strategic oversight. In just 10 years, he has started and successfully grown three companies in varying industries. Nicholas has great organizational skills and can bring teams together and actualize his vision, while also helping those that work with him actualize theirs. Nicholas is proud that his entrepreneurial ventures have created employment for many families. In the last 10 years, his three companies have employed about 80 people directly, and hundreds of others indirectly. As an investor, Nicholas specializes in tech start-ups, but also has his hand on the stock markets. Among the tech IPOs, he invested in and reaped big are world-renowned companies such as Amazon and Facebook. Apart from his business activities, Nicholas is also a philanthropist focused on improving the lives of the less privileged in society. Improving someone’s life, even in a small way makes him happy and contented.
Let’s start by telling us about your business.
I’ve mainly been focusing on international and emerging markets. There’s a lot of opportunities there that have already played out in the states. The challenge is handling localization, payments, and compliance across a lot of markets at scale.
Q: Please tell us how you make sure your customers will become raving fans of your company?
I always try to deliver 10x the value of what someone pays. It is the only way to have a long-term sustainable model.
Q: Please tell us the one thing that separates your business from the competition?
We invest heavily in technology, data, and compliance. It definitely hurts our bottom line in the short term, but I see business more as a marathon than a sprint.
Q: And to finish this section, please tell us what is the one major key to your company’s success?
I would credit my business’s success to our amazing team. It takes a lot of hard work and world-class talent to build a great organization.
Q: For our readers just starting to build a company, what advice can you give entrepreneurs just starting out with a new venture?
Be ready to work long hours. Start-ups are tough and require full dedication from the founder.
Q: For entrepreneurs seeking to build a business as successful as yours, what one big piece of advice can you give them when times get a little challenging?
Use those challenges as learning opportunities. In those challenges, you will find lots of growth opportunities.
Q: In today’s fast changing business environment, how do you stay abreast of things?
I try to stay in contact with a diverse group of people actively involved in different industries and roles.
Q: What is your “Why”? In one sentence, why do you get up in the morning?
To pursue happiness in every way possible.
Q: In one sentence, what is the most important thing one has to do to be a great leader?
One needs to be selfless if they are to become a great leader.
Q: In one sentence, describe how important your customers are to your business?
My philosophy is to always put the customer first. I try to always speak directly to the customer and collect information from them on how to improve the product.

Technology can make the world a better place by making healthcare more affordable to all.

I start my day with some light exercises, just to clear my head for the day’s tasks.

I use rejection as an opportunity to improve on my weaknesses.

My priority when hiring is the person’s character.
