After graduating, Peter stuck solely to a career in finance, amassing invaluable experience with each passing year. In 2015 He started PJF Consulting Group where he is the Senior Financial Advisor. In his role there, Peter helps his clients with their financial goals and priorities. Peter can take an overwhelming process and make it a pleasant experience for his clients. He achieves this by listening in order to make a clear assessment of the client’s needs. Peter then puts his extensive experience and knowledge to work by introducing a spectrum of solutions and services tailored to each client. Follow up is also key to building a strong, long-lasting relationship with clients, one that facilitates trust and produces a superior client experience.

When facing important decisions such as finances, Peter is the type of person that has not only the experience, but the drive to help that one would look for in a financial advisor. The client’s future financial wellbeing is just as important to him as it is to them.

Let’s start by telling us about your business.

PJF Consulting Group is a financial consulting business that helps clients with financial decisions and goals such as investments, savings, retirement, budgeting, and whatever else the client may need help with.

Q: Please tell us how you make sure your customers will become raving fans of your company?

I listen intently to the needs of each client so that I can assess their unique circumstances. Then I am vigilant about my follow-up. It is really that superior client experience that produces excellent client retention.

Q: Please tell us the one thing that separates your business from the competition?

Again, I’d have to say it’s that client experience. Nothing drives a client away from a Financial Advisor faster than feeling like they cannot trust them. I have been able to produce strong client relationships that are built on a foundation of trust. That is what separates me from the competition.

Q: And to finish this section, please tell us what is the one major key to your company’s success?

I have been successful because of my decades of experience. Not only have I stuck with my role as a Financial Advisor for nearly 30 years, but I have adapted with the changing financial atmosphere along the way as well.

Q: For our readers just starting to build a company, what advice can you give entrepreneurs just starting out with a new venture?

Plan, plan, plan. Have your business plan of course but then also have a plan for all the “what-if’s” that may come up, even the most unlikely of scenarios. You will be so happy to have that plan in place later on down the road if you prepare it ahead of time and it will save you valuable time and money. It could even keep you from going under. Just look at where we are in 2020, I don’t think anyone would have predicted this but if you have even the simplest of contingency plan to refer to when things like this arise, you are already miles ahead of everyone else.

Q: For entrepreneurs seeking to build a business as successful as yours, what one big piece of advice can you give them when times get a little challenging?

Don’t give up, adapt. Refer back to those plans I talked about and see where you can make changes to get you through the tough times.

Q: In today’s fast changing business environment, how do you stay abreast of things?

I subscribe to multiple business magazines, I like to start the day by reading the news but again, multiple sources. In order to get a broad and unbiased scope of what is really going on, it is important to seek out multiple sources of information. I might also ask one of my daughters to interpret some of the current slang for me too, they’re a great source for that.

Q: What is your “Why”? In one sentence, why do you get up in the morning?

I get up in the morning because I am passionate about what I do, whether it’s helping people build a stable financial future, helping my girls achieve their goals, or my coaching and volunteer work.

Q: In one sentence, what is the most important thing one has to do to be a great leader?

In order to be a great leader, you must have strong core ethics like honesty, dependability, and trustworthiness.

Q: In one sentence, describe how important your customers are to your business?

Without customers, I would have no business, so I make sure that I treat them with the respect that they deserve.

Q: In one sentence, describe a positive way that technology can make the world a better place?

I think that just the vast amount of information available to everyone through technology can make the world a better place.

Q: In one sentence, tell us something positive to motivate our readers?

You are in control of a lot more than you think; even if you are having a day where nothing goes your way, you can still end the day on a positive note by maintaining a good attitude throughout.

Q: In one sentence, tell us how you start your day to get ready?

After reading a few news articles, I go over my schedule for the day and then I never leave the house without saying goodbye to my wife, looking at her reminds me why I work as hard as I do.

Q: In one sentence, describe how you handle rejection and setback?

I reflect on what I am grateful for and how far I have come which gives me the motivation needed to keep going through any setback.

Q: In one sentence, describe what your hiring philosophy is?

I look for open minded individuals that are honest and can adapt when necessary.

Q: In one sentence, describe how you keep your sanity in a competitive business environment?

My volunteer work helps me stay sane, when I am coaching and helping others, I can really let go of the stress caused by the competitive business environment.
