In an extremely competitive business world, Venture Capitalists are looking for marketing professionals that are world-class. Jeff has an unmatched ability to find the best of the best when it comes to pairing quality marketing professionals with Venture Capitalists in order to facilitate successful mergers and acquisition deals. As a well-respected leader in mergers and acquisitions, Jeff has been responsible for overseeing over 170 successful deals. Perhaps one reason for Jeff’s prosperous career is that he cares about the people and businesses he works with. He genuinely wants them to succeed so he works hard to pair experts together that will produce the best outcome. Jeff had studied and obtained a bachelor’s degree in geography but went on to build a wildly successful career in the advertising industry, proving that hard work and determination are often much stronger factors in building a career than having a business related degree at times. When looking at everything he has accomplished, Jeff Roberts is a great example of a self-made entrepreneur that is thriving in his role as Partner at Partners for Agencies, with no signs of slowing down.

Let’s start by telling us about your business.

Partners for Agencies specializes in marketing and advertising for the creative services industry. I work providing Venture Capitalists with top-flight Advertising and Marketing professionals. We supply “experts” in their field who can assist VC’s with any marketing requirements within their portfolio’s usually on a project by project basis. We also supply Interim Directors, Non-Executive Directors, and specialist marketing turnaround experts.

Q: Please tell us how you make sure your customers will become raving fans of your company?

I provide a top-notch client experience. When I am either facilitating a working relationship between a professional and a Venture Capitalist or I am handling the buying or selling of an agency, the client will get my full attention and my full range of knowledge and expertise. When all parties are highly satisfied, you will have success and clients will enjoy the process too which will result in a “fan”.

Q: Please tell us the one thing that separates your business from the competition.

I have over three decades of experience and have personally handled over 170 successful deals. Of all the things a business can offer, these are the ones that cannot be bought or faked, but they are the things that will benefit a customer the most.

Q: And to finish this section, please tell us what is the one major key to your company’s success?

Our extensive knowledge of the Advertising and Marketing industry. Both when supplying professionals to VC’s and when buying and selling agencies, having an extensive knowledge is going to give your business an advantage. It comes with time and by having people like myself as Partner, for instance, with my 30 years of experience and track record of success.

Q: For our readers just starting to build a company, what advice can you give entrepreneurs just starting out with a new venture?
Never be afraid to follow your gut. Let’s say you have been on one path but you start to feel like you need to change course but are worried what others may say or are worried about the amount of time or money that has already been invested. Make the switch to what your gut is telling you. When you are wholeheartedly doing something, you will be more successful. Doing something any less than wholeheartedly is much more of a waste in the long run.

Q: For entrepreneurs seeking to build a business as successful as yours, what one big piece of advice can you give them when times get a little challenging?

Challenging times are just problems that need solving but most of the time, they can be solved. Figuring out the solution to challenging problems is often something that entrepreneurs thrive at doing. If it seems like a particularly big problem, just break it down until you have a small enough problem to begin with, solve it and repeat. These types of stories, of solving problem after problem, are typically what successful entrepreneur’s autobiographies are made of!

Q: In today’s fast changing business environment, how do you stay abreast of things?

It is important for me to stay current with everything going on in the marketing and advertising world so I am constantly expanding my education on the subjects and keeping a pulse on current events through things like social media and google alerts. I have also built up a wide network I can tap into to seek out like-minded professionals with whom I can share news and trends.

Q: What is your “Why”? In one sentence, why do you get up in the morning?

I get up in the morning because, even after many years in this career, I am still very passionate about what I do and I am very driven to keep building upon the foundation of success I have built.

Q: In one sentence, what is the most important thing one has to do to be a great leader?

In order to be a great leader, one must know how to set the right in example in their leadership.

Q: In one sentence, describe how important your customers are to your business?

My customers are the foundation of business.

Q: In one sentence, describe a positive way that technology can make the world a better place?

Technology has made the world a better place by making it easier to perform most jobs, which has also produced a more efficient workplace and happier workers.

Q: In one sentence, tell us something positive to motivate our readers?

Don’t set limits for yourself, just achieve and see just how much you are capable of accomplishing instead.

Q: In one sentence, tell us how you start your day to get ready?
