VANCOUVER, B.C., April 19th, 2022 – Tara Armstrong and Michelle Lan, two of Vancouver’s top PR and marketing talents, have joined forces to launch Armstrong + Lan Communications, a new full-service agency specializing in strategic public relations and marketing. Taking a personalized and integrated approach, the boutique agency will offer a comprehensive suite of results-oriented services including long- and short-term communications planning, media relations, event management, social media marketing, and brand storytelling.

With more than 20 years of experience between them, long-time friends Armstrong and Lan have established a strong network of authentic relationships among traditional and emerging media in the Vancouver market and across Canada. Under their new joint venture, the two industry specialists will optimize their exceptional expertise in PR, marketing and social media while leveraging their long-standing media connections to drive results for a host of leading hospitality brands, real estate developers, and lifestyle clients in the Lower Mainland and beyond.

Armstrong & Lan Communications will now serve as the agency of record for a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from iconic luxury resorts to small independent restaurants and cafes. The firm’s current client roster includes Parq Vancouver, the Sequoia Company of Restaurants (Seasons in the Park, The Teahouse, Carderos and Sandbar), Gotham Steakhouse & Bar, Tractor Everyday Healthy Foods, Temper Chocolate & Pastry, Fanny Bay Oyster Bar & Shellfish Market, Glowbal Restaurant Group (Glowbal, Coast, Black+Blue, Trattoria, Italian Kitchen and Five Sails), Ophelia, and many more. The agency also represents top-tier real estate development groups Grosvenor America for Resonance Consultancy, Gryphon House, and Qualex-Landmark, and works with not-for-profit groups such as Vancouver Firefighter’s Charities, a fundraising organization operated by the firefighter employees of Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services.

Over the last year, both Armstrong and Lan have been working behind the scenes with new and existing clients to execute a number of charitable initiatives in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The business partners teamed up with Glowbal Restaurant Group for a wide-scale community outreach program that saw more than 8,600 meals delivered to healthcare staff, non-profit organizations and other local service organizations within the Metro Vancouver. Additionally, Rocky Mountain Chocolate enlisted the PR professionals to launch a national chocolate donation campaign, with $500,000 worth of sweet treats delivered to frontline workers and at-risk individuals across the country.

“Michelle and I share a mutual love of food, wine and travel and we’re so grateful that we’ve been able to parlay these passions into rewarding careers that allow us to work with some of Vancouver’s most acclaimed names in hospitality and lifestyle,” says Armstrong. “We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Armstrong & Lan Communications and look forward to harnessing our combined experience and working together to provide the very best results for our clients.”

“I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Tara on a number of special projects over the last two years and we have developed an incredible working relationship,” explains Lan. “We both bring something different to the table in terms of our expertise, and we can’t wait to expand our services this summer while continuing to support our clients under our new joint venture.”
