$3 million Reasons Why Recruitment Software Is Still In Its Infancy

Recruiting and training software platform based in Chicago, Illinois, Classet has secured $3 million in its seed funding round spearheaded by Starting Line. Other participants in the seed funding round include  Weekend Fund, SV Angel, Wayfinder, and Liquid 2. Classet has disclosed its intention to divert the secured funds to its scaling aspirations.

Classet was cofounded by Nick Jones, Cooper Newby, and Gino Rooney. The company is currently focused on creating a network that caters to the trades community so that employers can use this platform to promote their opportunities, locate potential employees, and fast track the training for entry level staff. Classet also caters to students and job seekers by providing tools for the facilitation of career search in the trades through various medium such as short form videos, career quizzes, career path analysis/comparison, and an efficient application process.

Prior to the current dispensation, Classet’s business bordered around construction trades, and helping companies find Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers and HVAC Techs. This has always been a lucrative industry and boasts of almost 700,000 job openings presently.

While appraising the paradigm shift Classet was experiencing Gino Rooney expressed  Classet’s concern about the touch process of hiring firsthand and the necessity for creating an enabling platform for job seekers and students stuck with underemployment or  struggling with low paying jobs to be able to access the many opportunities available in the skilled trades. In Rooney’s words:
